An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Development Team Leader to join a market-leading financial company in Wiltshire. In this newly created position, the Development Team Leader will be responsible for leading a large team of dedicated software developers, as well as being a hands-on resource when required. The Development Team Leader will join a team responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of my client’s industry-leading financial transaction management platform.
The successful Development Team Leader will need solid commercial hands-on development experience, ideally through the whole development lifecycle. The Development Team Leader will be responsible for the development of a variety of projects ranging in size and duration.
Essential skills for the Development Team Leader position are:
• Solid development background ideally in Java
• OOAD
• HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Previous Team Lead experience
Other skills that are highly desired are:
• Spring, Hibernate, Oracle
• Unix and shell scripting
• System architecture and agile methodologies
As the Development Team Leader, a large proportion of your time will be spent leading the team, ensuring project deadlines are met, mentoring the team and managing their career growth and objectives. You will also have the opportunity to manage a team offshore and may be required to travel to these sites on occasion. The Development Team Leader will be expected to be hands-on and contribute to the development when required.
